Monthly Newsletter

Welcome to our 2nd edition and August Newsletter!

This month, we’re diving deep into building strength and flexibility with mindful movement. We have been working on building an at home practice with the Yang 13 Form, focusing on our breathing techniques in Qigong, and checking our alignment in Yoga. Its been a great month and now we are going to explore how these practices can cultivate strength and flexibility in body, mind, and spirit.

“How to Enhance Flexibility and Strength with Tai Chi, Qigong, and Yoga”

Strength is more than just muscle power; it’s about resilience, endurance, and the ability to carry out daily activities with ease. Tai Chi, Qigong, and Yoga offer unique ways to build strength through low-impact exercises that are gentle on the joints but highly effective for muscle conditioning and help with body alignment.

There are many benefits with these ancient practices and I want you to experience them all! Through slow, controlled movements we build strength to improve balance, coordination and overall stability. Deep breathing helps strengthen the body from the inside out bringing oxygen to the cells to help your body perform better while allowing energy (qi) to flow freely. This combination of breathwork and deliberate movement promotes physical and mental resilience helping you build endurance while relieving stress and tension.

Whether you choose to focus your practice on Tai Chi, Yoga, or Qigong the benefits are endless. Just a few minutes a day can make a big difference in how you are feeling. Take the time to get moving, connect your mind, body and breath increasing physical and mental flexibility today.

A Few Tips for Building Strength and Flexibility:

Consistency: Regular practice is key to building strength and flexibility. Even a few minutes each day can yield significant benefits.

Warm-Up: Always start with a gentle warm-up to prepare your muscles and joints for more intense activity.

Mindful Movement: Focus on your form and breath. Proper technique maximizes benefits and reduces the risk of injury.

Balanced Routine: Incorporate a mix of strength and flexibility exercises into your routine for balanced development.

Listen to Your Body: Push your limits, but also know when to rest. Balance is crucial for sustainable progress, 70% is a good goal to start with.

Community Highlights: Success Stories from Our Community
This month, we’re excited to share some inspiring stories from our community members who have made remarkable progress in their strength and flexibility journeys. Not everyone is comfortable sharing their names so this month we have a few anonymous entries.

"Thorough explanations help me understand the basics and form a good foundation to build an at home practice. I love that I now feel comfortable practicing on my own"

"I have Meniere's Disease and came to Tai Chi to improve my balance. Six months later and with an incredible instructor my balance has improved tremendously. It certainly helps to focus on posture and strength throughout the body and to not just rely on the vestibular nerve to create that sense of balance. So pleased I am on this path for many reasons, but this is so important."

"I’ve been doing PT for Achilles tendonitis and there are several exercises that require balance. The physical therapist doesn't give any instruction except stand on this wobbly mat on one leg for 30 seconds. Fortunately, I have Cheryl in the back of head my head saying find your ground, take your time, breathe, and focus. Thank you Cheryl. I hope you realize how important you are to my life and I'm sure so many others. "

These stories remind us that with dedication and mindful practice, we can achieve significant improvements in our wellness. It also reminds us that Tai Chi, Yoga and Qigong will help us in every aspect of our life both physically and mentally.
